Information for the sacrament of Confirmation for the 2026-2027 school year will be available starting September 4th, 2026. Please come back to this page for registration information at that time.
If your child will be in Grade 7 in September 2026 and has not yet received the sacrament of First Communion, please contact Melanie Gaddi, Pastoral Minister via phone at 905-332-5115 or email: mgaddi@hamiltondiocese.com.
NOTE: This information is only for children who attend our 6 parish elementary schools. If your child is Catholic, lives within our parish boundaries, and attends a different school, please see the Catechetical Correspondence page on our website.
CONFIRMATION – SY2025-2026
Confirmation celebrations were held last January 31st and February 7th, 2026, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish. 226 children from our parish community and 6 affiliated Catholic elementary schools were confirmed. We thank our parish and school communities for keeping our Confirmation candidates in your prayers during this special time.
What is the Sacrament of Confirmation?
Confirmation is the sacrament by which Catholics receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit gives them the increased ability to practice their Catholic faith in every aspect of their lives and to witness Christ in every situation.
The Effects of Confirmation are as follows:
- An increased portion of the gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, knowledge, right judgment, understanding, courage, piety, and fear of the Lord
- A deepening and strengthening of the grace received at Baptism, which is considered the presence of God in the soul
- A more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ
- A closer bond with the Catholic Church
- The ability to take a greater, more mature role in the Church’s mission of living the Christian faith daily and witnessing to Christ everywhere
- A special mark, or character, on the soul that can never be erased.
